Simon Hurek started his aviation career through the Air Cadet program, receiving his Glider Pilot's Licence in 1996 and Private Pilot's Licence in 1997. Simon continued to work with the Air Cadet Gliding Program in roles of Gliding Instructor and Tow Pilot.
In 2004, Simon received his Class IV Instructor Rating and taught both ab initio and Multi IFR students until the spring of 2007. That year he moved to Toronto to pursue a job as a charter pilot. Subsequently, Simon secured employment in Vancouver flying freight on Cessna Caravan and Swearingen Metroliner aircraft. In the Spring of 2011 Simon joined Helijet International as an air ambulance Learjet 31A First Officer.
